CSS 211: Statistical Methods for Computational Social Science

This is the course website for CSS 211/POLI 279. The current iteration of the course is Fall 2025.
The goal of this course is to introduce students to foundational statistical methods and tools for computational social science (CSS), including: data wrangling and visualization, regression, and model selection. Students will also develop proficiency in the R programming, and the course emphasizes hands-on application of techniques to real-world datasets.
